Isaac Haxton wins US Poker Open 2023 event

A total of 54 players had bought into Event #08 of the US Poker Open 2023. The buy-in was $25,000, bringing the prize pool to $1.35 million. The sum was distributed among the first eight places.

This year marks the fifth year of the US Poker Open. The tournament takes place at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and is hosted by Poker Central. A total of ten high roller events will be held from March 23rd to April 4th, 2023. The buy-ins are between 10,000 and 50,000 USD.
At the final table, it didn’t look as if Isaac Haxton would make the big hit. It wasn’t until Alex Foxen and Phil Hellmuth – fifth and sixth-placed respectively – had to retire from the finals that Haxton took the reins. First, he catapulted Dan Smith and Bill Klein out of the tournament before beating Joey Weissman heads-up.

Career win: Haxton cracks $35 million

Isaac Haxton has been in impressive form this year. The American was able to secure around USD 5.0 million in tournament prize money in the first three months. His career earnings surpassed $35 million by winning Event 8 of the US Poker Open.

On Twitter, Haxton posed with the prize money and a gold trophy presented to the winner of USPO’s 8th Event. In a separate tweet, the poker pro not only went into his victory, but also shared against masked opponents on the net. He wore an FFP2 protective mask throughout the tournament.

The best thing about winning poker tournaments is definitely the money. But the next best part is how angry the biggest idiots on Twitter get when they see a mask in a winning photo.
